On behalf of a financial services organisation, I am seeking a Senior Project Manager to work in the organisations developing Business Process Management capability which is key to strengthening its overall risk and control posture. The will be an initial 6-month contract with potential to extend a further 6 months.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to be in their London office 2 days per week, therefore the role would be suited to someone that lives within commutable distance.
Responsibilities:
- The Senior Project Manager will be given the opportunity to bring structure and leadership to this highly visible program of work. This includes planning and managing the of the roll out of an enterprise-wide process mapping initiative (including process risk and control reviews), and the assessment and roll out of new technology to support the program.
- Responsible for set-up, planning and delivery of the organisations Business Process Management program of work, in partnership with relevant internal sponsors and leaders.
- Responsible for developing trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders (Business Process Management is an enterprise-wide initiative touching all areas of the business) and establishing a culture of on time delivery, holding people to account and being solution oriented.
- Responsible for structuring the program of work including definition and management of a detailed project/program plan(s). This includes the approach to the ongoing management and maintenance of Process artefacts.
- Responsible for establishing and coordinating relevant governance forums (eg, SteerCo, Project Boards, etc.)
- Responsible for detailed project/program reporting
- Responsible for delivering any projects (eg, process management tooling) in line with the organisations project governance standards as well as project budget management.
- Ensures the program of work is effectively resourced. Responsible for managing the work of consultants, securing and utilizing internal resources in an efficient manner and maintaining a co-operative, motivated and successful team.
Experience/Skills required:
- Significant practical experience of leading and managing corporate change programs across an end-to-end project life cycle gained within large organisations and preferably within a regulated financial services environment.
- Experience in delivering large change programs related to enterprise-wide Business Process Management, and/or Risk and Control beneficial.
- Hands on experience in delivery of IT projects within strong project governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills with practical experience of supporting technical teams to formulate and articulate business benefits through the construction of business cases.
- Demonstrable experience of quantifying the effort required to deliver a solution whilst articulating any implications of any proposed solution on the wider business and existing systems.
- Experienced in creating well-structured and good quality project documentation with excellent skills in the use of the MS Office suite of tools and MS Project
- Experience of using PlanView or similar, to produce and maintain high quality project plans.
- Planning and Risk management – A focus on project planning, tracking execution to plan. Attention to detail, meticulous. Thinks ahead and anticipates risks, plans mitigations, and supports the businesses risk culture. Where and when necessary, escalate early and appropriately to management prior to avoid issues and deviations to plan.
- Consultative relationship management – Works as a partner with stakeholders providing a consultative/collegiate, solution-oriented approach that creates trusted relationships.
