On behalf of an industry leading organisation, I am seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst on a 12-month contract basis. The Senior Technical Business Analyst will perform tasks related to the design, implementation, support/maintenance, and enhancement of the enterprise, vendor and in-house developed applications. You will serve as subject matter expert in regard to content, processes, and procedures associated for complex technical and functional system.
Whilst the role is predominantly remote based, you will be required to partake in occasional visits to the organisations London offices, therefore you must be UK based for this purpose.
Responsibilities:
- Join the team responsible for Data & Analytics reporting and data warehousing which supports multiple key initiatives for the company.
- Interface directly with business owners, Product Managers, Product Development, and Architecture teams within scrum team to analyse and understand business requirements, consider current and future business implications, translate functional into technical requirements, validate solutions, and drive business process improvement efforts.
- Work effectively within scrum team using the agile methodology to appropriately document and prioritize user stories.
- Perform tasks related to the design, implementation, support/maintenance, and enhancement of D&A applications
- Conduct product/business analysis to support business cases and build prioritized roadmap based on factual, objective and quantified/qualified data.
- Manage user acceptance testing process for Data & Analytics products/services to ensure that product features and functionalities meet customer and market needs.
- Work with support teams to ensure new product releases have been implemented with appropriate implementation and support processes in place for relevant teams
- Work closely with support teams to ensure appropriate second level and root-cause analysis is completed to address defects or issues and then work with product/data manager to ensure it is prioritized and managed on roadmap appropriately as needed.
- Monitor and mentor other business systems analysts in software development methods and processes and implementation of those methods.
- Documents, analyzes and assesses the functional requirements for business applications. Identifies gaps and alternative approaches to meet requirements, and ensures all deliverables completed. Often facilitates working groups in this capacity.
- Consults with functional users and technical and reporting staff to determine best approaches, ensuring that approved solutions are implemented in a timely and correct fashion.
- Gathers and assimilates all available existing documentation/intelligence if applicable, and periodically reviewing them to integrate appropriate industry practices.
- Interviews SME’s and key stakeholders to gather business requirements
- Documents, coordinates, and facilitates discussion of the business requirements document
- Assists in the identification of potential solutions to business problems with the team
- Serves as interface between the development team and business/functional user groups.
Experience Skills required:
- Previous experience in a Technical Business Analyst capacity.
- Relational database knowledge and experience of working in a Data & Analytics project environment highly desirable.
- Able to create SQL with minimal direction for data retrieval from relational database.
- Proven ability to interface and communicate between the business and IT – understanding the business requirements and how to translate them into technical specifications.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills – ability to communicate/interface with all levels of the organization – horizontally, vertically, cross-functionally, and globally.
- Outstanding problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Develops clear vision for end product/system – looks at global picture and thinks outside of the box.
- Uses multiple elicitation techniques, listens to business stakeholder and end users.
- Develops a well defined, shared understanding of the project scope.
