On behalf of a leading financial services organisation, I am seeking an experienced Principal Scrum Master to join their established team. The Scrum Master will be responsible for delivering change and driving value for our customers through the management of delivery in multiple Scrum teams within our Engineering department while also line managing our Scrum Masters. You will help the team excel by removing any impediments to progress, facilitating meetings and working closely with key stakeholders within or Engineering and Change functions. Focusing on the delivery of work within the sprint, you will be responsible for the coaching and adoption of agile methodologies within the team. As well as line management responsibilities for our Scrum masters, you will facilitate creativity and empowerment for the development teams through continuous improvement as well as being an active member of the Scrum Community of Practice.
Responsibilities:
- Guiding the teams on Agile methodologies and their associated practices.
- Responsible for facilitating the agile ceremonies, such as daily stand ups, sprint planning, sprint demos and retrospectives.
- Ensuring the SDLC is adhered to while contributing to its continued improvement.
- Line manage our current Scrum Masters within the Engineering function.
- Embraces and drives a continuous learning culture where the development of new skills and knowledge is paramount to the success of their role and career.
Experience/Skills required:
- Proven track record in playing the Scrum Master role for a software team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices and theory.
- Previous experience working within a financial services environment preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills – comfortable working with and presenting to senior management.
- Ability to confidently articulate the implications of technical debt and provide ideas and techniques for its removal.
- Excellent knowledge of Agile techniques: Scrum and Kanban as well as experience working within Azure DevOps/Jira for Product backlog management.
- Experience in line management of other scrum masters and driving quality initiative across teams.
