On behalf of a valued Spence Rose client, we are seeking an experienced Cloud & Infrastructure Architect. The Cloud & Infrastructure Architect designs, implements, and manages secure and scalable cloud solutions, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness for the organisation’s IT infrastructure.
On starting the role, you will be required one day a week in their London office for the first month, this will then become a fully remote based role thereafter.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a secure and scalable infrastructure aligned with business needs.
- Drive the organization’s cloud adoption strategy, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource utilization.
- Maintain a highly available and reliable environment with minimal downtime.
- Work with senior management by inputting into the overall strategy and then deliver by architecting solutions.
- Work alongside other architects and engineers to ensure each solutions compliments one other and are aligned to the overall strategy.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies by continuously researching and evaluating new technologies that can improve the infrastructure.
- Maintain and work on the agreed roadmaps for all digital services initiatives: This involves outlining the steps, timelines, and resources needed to implement new technologies and processes.
- Manage integrations between different systems by connecting various applications and tools used within the organization to create a seamless user experience.
- Migrate existing workloads to the cloud and optimize cloud-native applications.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration for efficiency.
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure performance and address issues proactively.
- Collaborate with other teams to design and deploy infrastructure solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other IT teams on cloud initiatives.
- Clearly communicate complex technical information to stakeholders at all levels.
Experience/skills required:
- Designing and implementing complex infrastructure solutions.
- Experience with cloud technologies: As cloud adoption is integral to modern digital workplaces, experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is highly desirable.
- Expertise in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools: Experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation is crucial for automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Experience with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS): Understanding the different cloud service models and their appropriate use cases is crucial for making informed decisions and designing efficient cloud solutions.
- Experience with Scripting languages like PowerShell is essential for automating tasks and interacting with cloud APIs.
- Experience with cloud security best practices, compliance regulations (eg, HIPAA, PCI DSS), and security tools (eg, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) is highly desirable.
- Collaboration and communication skills: Working effectively with various stakeholders, including developers, operations teams, and business leaders, is crucial for successful cloud adoption.
