On behalf of a valued client within the banking industry, I’m seeking an Java Developer to join their established Engineering team and play a key role in maintaining the CI toolset for the Murex platform and ecosystem. The Engineering team are responsible for defining and implementing the software development life cycle processes for the Murex platform, ensuring efficient code and configuration development while reducing errors, improving the stability and code quality of every release.
The organisation operates a hybrid working policy; therefore, you must be committed to being office based 3 days per week and within commutable distance of their City of London offices.
Responsibilities:
- Configure the Murex platform’s CI tooling
- Monitor the performance of CI pipelines
- Resolve support requests and incidents according to the bank’s procedures
- Assist teams with education and support on the bank’s CI tool set.
- Maintain the Murex platform’s CI tooling including bug fixing, upgrades and enhancements as requested
- Analyse any issues raised by the support and change teams and where necessary engage with the relevant vendors and communities to resolve
- Actively identify inefficiencies and errors and provide solutions
- Contribute and enrich the team’s knowledge base
- Collaborate with team members, the wider Murex team and other IT teams in the bank.
- Continuously learn about the latest trends in the market
- Investigating new tools/technologies/methodologies to continuously improve and mature the teams’ processes.
Skills/Experience required:
- At least 2 years’ experience working within a technology team in the financial sector required, alongside hands on Java development knowledge is preferred.
- At least 1 year working in a CI/CD environment
- Enthusiasm to upskill into the Murex platform space.
- Experience of cloud implementations is a plus
- Strong basic technical skills such as XML/XLST, RDMS/SQL, Excel, Unix
- Proficiency in CI tools like Jenkins, TeamCity, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.
- Good understanding of version control systems such as GIT
- Good Scripting language skills such as Java, Groovy, Python, Shell Scripting, etc.
- Interfacing skills are a plus eg REST APIs
- Degree in Computer Science, IT Engineering or related discipline.
