Senior IT Engineering Specialist

Spencer Rose is recruiting for an IT Engineering Specialist for one of our key accounts, operating in the FX marketplace, based in Central London. An IT Engineer, reporting to the Engineering Manager, is required to engineer and re-engineer the latest technologies including but not limited to, the evolution of the Desktop Transformation; complementing the London IT Engineering team, bringing subject matter expertise across multiple areas. Responsible for the specific technical design, build and deployment of both new solutions and enhancements to existing solutions. The candidate will have the ability to collaborate across IT to ensure the smooth transition of new services deployed from project into production.
Responsibilities:
- Provide third level support, where required, to assist the Infrastructure Service Operations teams with the investigation, escalation and resolution of technical Infrastructure issues that cannot be resolved by the BAU team.
- Proficiency working with third parties, where relevant, to assist in their deployment of new services.
- Assist in the leadership of projects, in conjunction with Senior and Lead engineers; overseeing the successful release and transition of new IT services into support, meeting the team’s service acceptance criteria.
- Provide last line support for solutions delivered by the engineering function in line with existing IT service management processes.
- Successfully transition the support of new technologies to Service Operations.
- Assist Senior and Lead engineers on the overall strategy and architecture definition for the internal technology infrastructure, remote access and collaboration tools.
Experience/Skills required:
- Demonstrate the ability to engineer solutions with a hands on’ approach
- Exchange On Premise/Microsoft 365
- Creation of technical governance documentation, such as Solution Outline and High Level Design as well as authoring Low Level Designs
- Windows Server 2019
- Server builds
- Design and Management of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

- Strong understanding of designing to meet security principles and compliance
